Growing Flowers In Her Stomach

|
While eating breakfast this morning, I noticed my little belle just licking the jam off her toast. I thought she was going to eat the toast afterward as sometimes she does that but no, she put her toast down and then said she was full. Perhaps she was full I thought because she finished all of her scrambled eggs. I looked at her toast and noticed that she pinched off some parts of it. I then asked her what was wrong with her toast and she said she didn't want flowers growing in her stomach. Flowers? She pointed to the seeds on her toast. It was flax seeds. We had flax seed whole grain bread. After telling my daughter that flax seeds are good for her and promised her that no flowers would grow in her tummy, she still wasn't convinced. Okay, maybe next time.

HA HA. Well, there is always another breakfast for convincing her. BTW, I wouldn't want flowers growing in my tummy too.

I wonder where she get this idea from. This reminds me of my childhood. When I accidentally swallow some sour plum seeds, my grandma will tell me that a plum tree will grow from the top of my head! But then, I really waited and waited and it never did.

My sister told me that if I swallowed watermelon seeds that the plants would grow in my stomach. She expanded on this idea, telling me that the vines would come up my throat and choke me.

I hope your little belle hasn't been spending time with my sister!

Hi Rosebelle, guess kids sure have their own imaginations. And she's right too in her own way that from little seeds plants and trees grow.

My wife loves these kinds of bread...but me, will stick to plain whites.
Have fun, keep well, Lee.

Aw, you have a little belle, too!! Mine fears a watermelon growing in her belly from the seeds.

That is so cute.

Me and Joey must know the same people. I used to think watermelons would grow in my tummy, too.

LOL!! When we were kids, we were told by our elders that swallowing seeds would cause trees to sprout in our stomachs!!!

Have a nice day, Rosebelle!!

I guess I once worry about a tree growing in my stomach in my childhood when I accidentally swallow a seed, LOL!

I am still at the addiction of froyos. But I had only one preferred store. Froyo by the pound is much more cheaper here in the Philippines.

Very cute. She has a wondrous mind and that's a good thing.

How did she come up with that? Kids say the cutest things! Good for you for buying whole grain bread. My parents used to tell me a tree would grow out of my head if I ate an orange seed by accident.

That's cute :) I can't believe she actually *licked* all the jam off her toast! Isn't that really sweet? But then again, kids have a really high tolerance for sweet things...
